[1] ITOD

The new mission is out, and is also attached to this letter. The rules can be found in the mission section on the R2F website (http://www.rebelsquadrons.org/r2f/).

R2F 8.01 is due no later than August 31st, 2003. Don't procrastinate, if you have problems or know you'll be busy later in the month, get those reports in or contact your Squadron Commanding Officer.

Last mission we had a total of 24 persons report, out of 38 possible. 63% of the Wing reported, excellent job, everyone! Usually this is a slow month.

- Top Gun -
Mike Bullian - 28 Kills, 31,717 Points

- MRM Winner -
This is sort of unprecedented for me to do this, but Mike Bullian's narrative was just too good to not give the MRM to him. It contained a lot of bold ego, but it also followed the storyline in which I intend it to go. I nearly wet my pants laughing. So, congratulations again Mike. ":)

Wraith Squadron - 129 Kills, 128,880 Points, 7 Reports (87% Reporting!)

- Second Place Squad -
Shadow Squadron - 91 Kills, 110,682 Points, 7 Reports (58% Reporting)

[2] Command Staff Change

I'd just like to note a Command change. Colonel Han Suul is now the R2F XO, and Brigadier General Nichos Katran will be R2F SO until further notice.


[3] Paragon Rangers

The Paragon Rangers are here. I'll give you a brief description to start with. They are, put simply, the Paragon Rangers are a group of persons that go beyond the normal mission parameters, to go above and beyond the call of duty within the Retribution Fleet missions.

They are an elite group of pilots without a base or home, spread out amongst the Squadrons. All you have to do to become one..Is fly the R2F mission on the "Hard" difficulty setting, and complete the Primary/Secondary, and half the bonus Goals.

After that, you're sky-rocketed into a position of presteige. :P A website is currently being worked on for the Paragon Rangers.


[4] TIE problems

If anyone is having problems with TIE Fighter, report your problem to your Squadron CO or XO, especially if the problem involves Windows XP.

Anyone with Solutions to TIE Fighter problems, please forward on what you did to your Squadron CO/XO so they can forward it onto me. I want to make a small guide to fixing TIE problems, so that in the future people will know how to correct whatever problem they maybe having with TIE. Merits will be awarded for contributions.


[5] Retribution Fleet Historical Officer

I'm going to hold off on my decision for a little while on who will be appointed to this position. There were very few applicants, and I'm just picky.


[6] Recruiting

I encourage EVERYONE to recruit people into the R2F. Keep your squadrons full of pilots to help you win ITOD's, to have someone to talk to, and whatever else it is that you decide to do within your squadron. If you know of anyone having problems joining, please tell them to e-mail vender@hotpop.com

I may start awarding additional merits and medals for people that recruit persons into the R2F.


[7] Closing
